• What makes Sugar Bed comfortable?

  Generally speaking, the two most important factors that determine the value of a mattress to you are finding the right amount of pressure relief and the right amount of support for your specific body type and sleeping mechanics.

  Pressure relief is important because excess pressure limits blood circulation. Poor circulation can cause limbs to fall asleep, which can wake you up multiple times a night leaving you tired and foggy in the morning. You see, the majority of recovery happens in stage 4 of sleep, which is better known as REM sleep. It can take an adult up to four hours of sleep to enter REM sleep. If you’re constantly waking up throughout the night to re-position your body because of poor circulation, you’re missing out on critical, high-quality sleep.

  Adequate support is important because without it, you may not be resting in a position that promotes healthy spinal alignment. You spend (hopefully) seven to eight hours a night in bed, and resting with your spine in a neutral position allows appropriate weight distribution along your spine, preventing too much stress on any one area.

  For most back sleepers and side sleepers, Sugar bed offers the conformability and support necessary to relieve pressure in the shoulder and hip areas for most people, which is where the majority of pain, tingling, or sleeping limbs occur. It also offers support and pressure relief for the lower back, an area commonly affected by poor sleeping posture.

• Does Sugar Bed have memory foam?

  Yes, every Sugar Bed is made with 4 layers of foam, and the top two layers are memory foam. The bottom two layers provide the support and aid in increasing the longevity of the mattress, and and the top two layers (memory foam, and ventilated gel memory foam) provide the comfort, conformability, pressure relief, and cooling properties of your Sugar Bed.

• What is the Sugar Bed mattress made from?

  Sugar Bed is made with 4 layers of foam to provide proper support while relieving high pressure areas and promoting increased blood circulation. The top layer is a ventilated gel memory foam that creates a cooler sleeping surface to keep you cool while you sleep.

  • Easy Wash Cover – Removable, washable cover to help you maintain a hygienic sleeping surface.
  • Ventilated Gel Memory Foam – Combines ventilated gel with memory foam to create a cooler sleeping surface to help you sleep more comfortably.
  • Memory Foam – Offers the right amount of pressure relief to allow for increased blood circulation throughout the night.
  • Comfort/Progress Foam – This transition layer provides the right amount of tension relief without being too soft.
  • High Density Base Foam – This base foam offers the right amount of support to help encourage good spinal alignment while you sleep, and aids in the longevity of the mattress.

• What makes Sugar Bed different from other mattresses?

  Sugar Bed is different than other mattresses because it offers high-quality components at a comfortable price, but more than that, we care about helping you get your best night’s sleep. Instead of trying to pull the wool (or foam) over your eyes by telling you that Sugar Bed is the best bed for everybody, we actually tell you the truth about who our mattress is good for, who it may not be good for, and commit to helping you find the mattress that’s best for you, even if it’s not a Sugar Bed. • Does Sugar Bed use CertiPUR-US components?

  At Sugar Bed, we’ve carefully selected each component of your bed to help you have an incredible night’s sleep. This includes using CertiPUR-US® certified components.

  Sugar Bed CertiPUR-US® approved foams are:

  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDE flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead and other heavy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

• What safety tests have been done on Sugar Bed?

  Fire Retardant Testing to insure the product meets flammability standards and Durability & Rollator testing to insure Sugar Bed provides a lifetime of reliable use have been performed on Sugar Bed.

• Does Sugar bed foam have a smell?

  Yes, there is a slight smell to Sugar Bed, similar to a “new car smell” but it is much milder than what you experience with other new mattresses because the bed is compressed when it’s shipped to you. Once you remove and unroll the bed, the smell will begin to dissipate and should be gone within a week or so.

• What makes Sugar Bed so affordable?

  Major bedding manufacturers have designed a system where they work closely with retailers to ensure that the mattress shopping experience is as confusing as possible. They do this in hopes that you’ll spend way more than you need to on your quest to get a quality mattress that will provide a good night’s sleep.

  So where is your money going? It’s not going toward your sleep quality. It’s going toward the mattress store’s overhead costs. It’s going toward that mattress company’s big advertising budget. It’s going toward the costly shipping to get the mattress from manufacturer to warehouse to mattress store and eventually (after maybe a couple more stops) to your home.

• How long will my Sugar Bed last?

  We offer a 10 year warranty on your Sugar Bed purchase.

  Each time you use your mattress you are compressing the foams the that mattress is made of. Over time, the foams lose their elasticity and, like anything else you own, will show wear and tear. The higher quality and density of the foams used in the mattress, the longer they last. However, the longevity of your mattress is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to: amount of usage, number of sleepers, weight of sleepers, sleeping position, how often you rotate your mattress, how you care for your mattress, whether or not you’re using a mattress protector, etc.

  When a mattress companies claims an exact length of time that their mattress will last, they are not exactly telling you the entire story, and that story is that there are no guarantees on mattress longevity. However, there are a number of things that you can do to ensure that your mattress lasts. On our end, we use only higher density foams for durability.

  As for you, here are three things you can do to extend the life of your mattress:

  • Rotate your mattress 180 degrees every 3-6 months
  • Use a mattress protector and wash it monthly
  • Sleep on your back for more even weight distribution and less matting of the foams

• Why is there only one type of Sugar Bed mattress?

  Unlike most mattress brands, we’ve only got one model of the Sugar Bed. While most mattress brands would rather confuse you with tens (or hundreds) of models that all start to feel the same after a while, or by charging you an extra $1000 more for a slightly better model with a really fancy name, we put all our energy into building one mattress that works well for the majority of people. Not all people (because that’s a ridiculous claim). Most people say Sugar Bed has a medium firmness feel — and we’ve specifically chosen Sugar Bed’s materials to offer a combination of comfort and support that allows high pressure areas to receive the pressure relief they need by conforming to the body’s shape and size.

• Can my Sugar Bed get dust mites?

  At this time we haven’t completed testing regarding dust mites, so we don’t have a conclusive answer. However, what we know is that in order to thrive, dust mites need a habitat and they need a food source. Every mattress can provide a habitat for dust mites, and some fibers like wool and cotton are a food source for dust mites. Because our mattress and cover do not include materials that would be a food source, and because we use higher density memory foam that makes it more difficult for dust mites to burrow deep into the mattress, we would guess that dust mite levels would be lower than average. However, we haven’t verified this information independently, so we don’t feel comfortable making these claims officially.

• What sizes does the Sugar Bed come in?

  Our mattresses are available in standard sizes with the same measurements as other standard mattresses:

  • Twin XL (Extra Long): 38” x 80”
  • Full (Double): 53” x 75”
  • Queen: 60” x 80”
  • King: 76” x 80”
  • California King: 72” x 84”

• What is the height of the mattress?

  Your Sugar Bed mattress is comprised of 4 layers and is 10” thick.

• How much does the Sugar Bed mattress weigh?

  The queen size mattress weighs about 80 pounds. Smaller sizes weigh a little less, and the larger ones top out at about 100 pounds.

• How much weight does Sugar Bed safely hold?

  Sugar Bed is designed to support a maximum of 450 pounds and is optimized for sleepers who weigh 250 pounds or less. Sleepers exceeding the recommended maximum might find Sugar Bed to be too soft to provide optimal support. More questions about this? • Is Sugar Bed easy to set up?

  Absolutely. Your Sugar Bed will come with a packet that shows you the simple 4-step process for setting up your Sugar Bed, one of which includes having your best night’s sleep ever.

• Can I use my existing box spring?

  Yes, Sugar Bed will rest on your current boxspring or foundation.

• Can I use Sugar Bed with an adjustable base?

  Heck yes! We wholeheartedly support using an adjustable base with Sugar Bed because of the health benefits that come with it. Sugar Bed is designed to work with all types of surfaces including most hard and flat surfaces.

• Does Sugarbed have a break-in period?

  Yes. As with any new sleep setup, it can take up to 30 days to get used the support that comes from sleeping on your Sugar Bed. It can be normal to notice mild aches and pains the first week of two after sleeping on your Sugar Bed as your body adjusts. It’s like a new pair of shoes for your zzz’s.

• What kinds of beds are compatible with Sugar Bed?

  Sugar Bed works with almost any surface:
